In manufacturing, ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) are two distinct cooperation models, with the key difference lying in who takes responsibility for product design.

OEM involves the brand owner providing a complete design plan, including product specifications and technical parameters. The manufacturer's role is solely to produce the product according to these designs, and the final product is sold under the brand owner's logo. For example, a smartphone brand might supply detailed blueprints to a factory, which then manufactures the devices that will bear the brand's name.

ODM, on the other hand, means the manufacturer independently handles both the design and production of the product. The brand owner simply purchases the pre-designed product and attaches its own商标 (trademark). A typical case is a factory designing a tablet computer; multiple brands can buy this design, produce it, and market it under their respective names.

In summary, OEM is "contract manufacturing" where the brand controls the design, while ODM is "contract design and manufacturing" with the manufacturer leading the design process.
