1) Place the V-block on the platform to support the camshaft journal. If the diameter of the No. 1 journal is different from the diameter of the journal at other locations, the No. 1 journal (on the camshaft sprocket side) cannot be supported.
2) Make the dial indicator of the dial indicator perpendicular to the No. 3 camshaft journal.
3) Turn the camshaft in one direction by hand and measure the runout of the camshaft on the dial indicator.
4) If the limit is exceeded, the camshaft needs to be replaced.
