(1) The rough machining stage of the camshaft includes the support journals of the car, the outer cylindrical journals of the gears and the rough grinding cams. At this stage, the machine tool is required to be rigid, and the cutting amount is selected as large as possible, so that most of the machining allowance can be removed to improve productivity.
(2) The semi-finishing of the camshaft is the finishing of each bearing journal and the outer cylindrical journal of the finely ground gear. This stage mainly prepares for the machining of bearing journal gears.
(3) The finishing of the camshaft includes the finishing of each bearing journal, thrust surface, cam and helical gear. At this stage, the machining allowance and cutting amount are small, and the machining accuracy is high.
